Cameroon’s National Commission for the Protection of Children in Moral Danger, Delinquent or Abandoned is due to hold its first session of 2026 on Wednesday in the capital, Yaoundé.
The meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Social Affairs, Pauline Irene Nguene, and will focus on the theme: “Strategy and Care for Children in Moral Danger in Cameroon: The Role of Stakeholders.”
Officials say the session is expected to bring together representatives from government institutions, civil society organisations and development partners involved in child protection.
Participants are set to review existing systems for supporting vulnerable children, as well as examine ongoing challenges, including child abandonment, juvenile delinquency and social exclusion.
The discussions are also expected to explore ways of strengthening coordination among stakeholders and improving prevention and care strategies.
The session comes as authorities seek to reinforce efforts to safeguard children’s rights and welfare across the country.
